Job Summary

The successful candidate will be part of the OEM Platforms Life-CycleManagement (LCM) Engineering division and will contribute to the company wide effort in Designing, supporting, sustaining and delivering an integrated platform for Telecommunications OEMs utilizing Sun's and third party hardware and software technologies.

The position will architect and support tools and infrastructure to run and monitor optimized, parallel, nightly and on-demand builds across multiple development / sustaining branches for multiple releases. Key responsibilities will include setup and maintaining build environments, version control system, defect tracking mechanisms, tools for build monitoring systems and maintain project database. Responsible for releasing the build/patches and finalizing the engineering documentation that must accompany it. Will work closely with our Sustaining, QE/QA departments and the Software project leads and to deliver the software on time as planned.

Job Description

ROLE : Release Engineer with Lab support expertise

Required Knowledge :

* Expert in scripting and programming to implement complex processes.
* Must have demonstrable knowledge of java, Ant, C and Perl.
* Expertise in Version control management - Subversion, CVS & TeamWare
* Administrator level experience with two of the above source control systems.
* Strong understanding of Product versioning, tagging and building
* Must have worked with multiple code lines and branches
* Extensive knowledge of Solaris and Linux Packaging methods.
* Strong experience on Solaris / Linux systems, preferably in core administration.
* Deadline oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks and releases.
* Experience in Patch generation and management for Software products.
* Familiar in Lab management, OS installation, Jumpstart setup, Cluster setup, Hardware configuration, Data replication and Server maintenance.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
